A Quick Guide on Short Courses

 and Skills Programs

 

OVERVIEW

Each certification is made up of short courses which meet the criteria of specific Unit Standards. You can build up your skills program one short course at a time.

WHAT ARE UNIT STANDARDS?

These are specific learning outcomes identified by SAQA that we, as a SAQA accredited learning provider, align all our units to.

WHAT ARE SHORT COURSES?

Short courses are the building blocks of our skills programs. Each short course is made up of four lessons which typically meet one or more unit standards. Students can build their skills programs one short course at a time.

DO YOU WANT TO DO A SKILLS PROGRAM?

You can build your skills program one short course at a time, or you can register for a skills program and save time and money. Upon completion, you will receive a SAQA accredited certificate.

WHAT ARE LEVELS?

Our levels are equivalent to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) levels and indicates the skills level of an individual. The higher the level, the more skilled the individual will be.

In order to do specific skills level courses or skills programs you require the following competencies.

Skills Level 3 – Grade 10 or equivalent with a sound knowledge of English and Mathematics.

Skills Level 4 – Grade 12 or equivalent with a good comprehension of Mathematics and English.

Skills Level 5 – Higher education qualification.
